Macstellar IV is situated on a northen Ionian island. Two Photovoltaic power plants are linked with a third. The project 100% participation by Macstellar and the 300Kwh production is sold locally to the utilities providers for the region.
Again the site was chosen thanks to its proximity to existing energy transfer architecture to make the transmission costs to the grid lower, and livestock has been introduced to the site to help with control of vegetation.
Macstellar IV was is unique in Greece in that it introduced the idea of “solar education’. Nearby schools and colleges have been provided tours of the site and educational visits to inform young people of the benefits of renewables.
